Crates for Pet Travel
If you will be traveling by plane, knowing whether your pet will be traveling as a carry-on or as luggage is very important when buying crates for travel, as well. Each has their own size limitations, dimension requirements, and more. If you know how you prefer your pet to travel, as well as what the rules are with your travel company, it makes buying a crate for pet travel that much easier. Pet crates for travel will be much different than a pet crate you would simply keep in one place at home. They need to be more lightweight, with a handle if possible, and it is best to buy a crate for pet travel that can be folded down for storage. This way, anytime it isn’t in use, it won’t be taking up what is possible already cramped space. Crates for pet travel are often better than carriers for pet travel. This is because, given that they are generally larger, the pet will have more room inside. Crates for pet travel, however, aren’t as easily maneuvered as carriers for pet travel. But, for longer trips, the extra space can be wonderful for any animal. Another benefit to crates for pet travel as opposed to carriers for pet travel is that the animal can often see more. This obviously varies from brand to brand and style to style, but for the most part, crates for pet travel are just like a cage. Except for the bars, they are very open, and allow the pet to see more around them. This can make pets slightly less antsy, which is good since many pets get very nervous while traveling. Whatever crates for pet travel you decide to use, be aware that your pet will likely not only be nervous due to added movement and strange surroundings, but will likely get irritated after a long time being cooped up (even if they can see all around them). Allowing pets out to roam freely at every opportunity is an excellent way to help your pets make the most of their crates for pet travel. It is also an excellent way to not irritate other travelers with the incessant barking coming from your crate for pet travel. |
