Pillow in the center comes out. You can wash the entire pillow and the entire outside ring. The outside ring is NOT made of foam like most pet beds. Wash them everyday if needed. Line dry and it will look brand-new every time. Machine wash normal cycle on cold and line dry. Stuffing in pillow will never ball-up or "smush" stays fluffy wash after wash.
