Small Dog Carriers - Dog plays Lassie, saves family from fireDog plays Lassie, saves family
from fire:- A Colorado family is crediting their 9-year-old dog with saving them from an early-morning fire that gutted their home. David Thorn said Sadie, a terrier mix, climbed onto a bed about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday and woke his wife, Linda, who found the house in Lakewood, Colo., filling with smoke. A fire had engulfed a two-car garage and was spreading. The Thorns got their 12-year-old son and evacuated the house with Sadie. Two other pets, however, died in the fire and the family lost all possessions in the house. That showed them, however, just how important Sadie's Lassie-like actions were. David Thorn told the Denver Post: She's a godsend. Had Sadie not been here, the smoke inhalation would have got us. We're just so lucky to have a great little dog. Authorities from the Denver suburb's fire protection district said the blaze started with an unattended candle in the garage. |
